Ramen Shop: a paint set, not a place

Choose Ramen Shop by name in the airbrush palette selector. The player who asked what it meant accepted the explanation that it is a subset of paint colors. You do not need to find a restaurant or a map location.

If the set is not visible, check your owned palettes and the selector controls. If the brush produces no paint at all, use the separate airbrush troubleshooting guide; that symptom is not explained by the name.

Kawaii Overload: select the set before choosing a color

Pink or pastel-looking paint from a different set is not the same instruction. Select Kawaii Overload itself, then choose a color inside it. Players in the linked discussion describe using one of its nine colors with a larger brush and rotating the shell for coverage.

This is community guidance for a visibly working brush. It does not establish a universal coverage percentage or a fix for missing paint.

Atari Retro, AMV Crush, Maid Flyer, Memory Dump and Y2K Future

These labels, along with A Bit of Torrent, appear in the named-set reference. When one is printed on the order, use that exact palette label. Atari Retro does not mean you need an Atari donor device; Memory Dump is not a firmware instruction.

The finder below keeps these entries at “Set name only” where we have no source-backed device pairing. It provides the shared selection rule without inventing quest owners, unlock days or color codes.

Read the order as a palette instruction

ReStory gives paint sets product-style names. Wind Amp sounds like hardware, Banana Barrel sounds like an object, and Ramen Shop sounds like a location. In a paint order, those phrases name the set the customer wants. The job is not asking you to install an amplifier, find a barrel, or visit another shop.

Start with the exact wording on the customer card. If it names a set, select that label in the airbrush interface. If it says Freestyle, the customer is giving you room to choose from the paint you own. A current r/ReStoryGame thread shows why this distinction still causes trouble: players tried to translate or purchase "Freestyle" as though it were another named product.

Buy paint sets through Home Depot

Use the shop computer and open Home Depot. The paint section holds the named sets used by custom orders. A developer-marked Steam answer confirms this purchase path and says each set contains nine colors. The current ReStory tools reference also says a purchased set stays available instead of being consumed one can at a time.

You need the airbrush before a paint order becomes practical. Buy only the set required by the current job unless you want more colors for your own designs. The named set is the requirement; buying every palette at once does not make the current device register faster. Keep enough yen for parts, bills, and licenses that actually block the repair loop.

1. Read the customer card and copy the palette name exactly.
2. Open Home Depot on the shop computer and enter the paint section.
3. Buy the required set if the shop does not already own it.
4. Finish the device repair and put the fully assembled gadget on the mat.
5. Open painting mode, select the named set, and begin with a large exterior panel.

Named palettes and Freestyle are different jobs

A named-palette job checks the requested family, not whether a color looks close. Yellow chosen from Freestyle does not become Banana Barrel merely because it resembles one of that set's swatches. Open the palette picker and read the active label before spraying. Any color inside the required set can be used unless the order gives another instruction.

Freestyle removes the named-set restriction. The current tools reference says you can mix colors from the sets you own. That freedom does not remove the ordinary painting controls: the device still needs to be fixed and assembled, and you still need enough coverage for the work to look intentional. Freestyle is permission to choose, not a separate can of paint to purchase.

Fill the required set progress instead of painting one patch

The developer answer says most of the device needs the requested palette. The current tools reference describes the same rule as filling the required set's progress bar to 100 percent. A small test mark proves that the airbrush works, but it does not finish the customer request.

Paint one broad face, rotate the gadget, and work around the visible shell. Check the order tracker between passes. If you used another set first, cover enough of those areas with the required palette to complete its bar. Colors from other sets can remain in the design, but they do not replace the named set progress the customer requested.

Know the current set names before you hunt for a part

The current ReStory tools reference lists ten paint sets: Wind Amp, Banana Barrel, A Bit of Torrent, Kawaii Overload, Maid Flyer, Memory Dump, AMV Crush, Atari Retro, Ramen Shop, and Y2K Future. These are labels in the paint system. They are not repair parts, customer locations, or separate devices.

This page keeps the list together so a new name does not need a thin guide of its own. Banana Barrel and Wind Amp have separate manuals because players searched for those exact orders and the sources document their confusion. Ramen Shop, Maid Flyer, and the other names stay here until a distinct task has enough evidence to need a deeper walkthrough.

Update before treating zero progress as a new bug

Official patch 1.0.011r, released August 19, includes a fix for the painting palettes UI. The note does not say which orders failed or whether every zero-percent report shared one cause. It does establish a clean first step: install the current build before repainting the whole device or buying the same set again.

After updating, confirm that the correct set name is visible, the device is fully repaired and assembled, and the required set bar moves when you cover a large panel. If progress remains at zero, keep the save and capture the customer card, active palette label, painted device, and game version. Do that before resetting the paint, because a reset removes the mismatch another player or developer needs to see.

1. Confirm the requested name and the active set label match.
2. Confirm the device is fixed, assembled, and sitting on the workbench mat.
3. Paint a broad exterior area and watch the required set progress.
4. Update ReStory if the palette selector or tracker behaves incorrectly.
5. Preserve screenshots and the save when the current build still stays at zero.

Keep source certainty separate from a visual guess

The purchase path, nine-color sets, and substantial coverage rule come from a developer-marked Steam answer. The palette UI fix comes from the official patch history. The named-set list and detailed progress behavior come from the current community-maintained ReStory tools reference. Reddit supplies a recent example of the Freestyle wording being misunderstood.

These sources are enough to build a useful workflow without inventing an exact swatch for every order. Balance values and interface labels may still change. The finder keeps all ten names on this page and links the specific Banana Barrel and Wind Amp manuals for the two orders that already have their own evidence trails.
