Check the repair you already accepted
A quiet shop is not enough to identify a broken save. In the “No story progression” Reddit thread, one player resumed the story after finishing a forgotten pink Autorolla Razor belonging to the mail carrier’s girlfriend. That is a documented recovery for one player, not the required device in every stalled run.
Check each customer device and box on the shelf and around the workbench. Another player in a three-star-review discussion found an Eggotchi beside a lamp. Clearing online orders alone can miss an in-person customer’s unfinished job.
- Read the current objective and note the last story customer you served.
- Inspect stored boxes and loose devices for an unfinished customer job.
- Check the order’s full task list, then finish and return it if possible.
- If a task needs a license or tool, identify that requirement before spending on unrelated upgrades.
Read Inbox as well as Orders
Players recommend checking the Inbox tab because story mail may not appear in the Orders view. Open the other mail folders and read messages tied to your last customer or competition.
The same discussion contains suggestions about licenses and equipment. Use the active objective to decide what you need; buying every license is not a verified progression fix. Patch 1.0.013r addressed blockers involving purchased licenses and main-quest orders, so older advice about buying a license “too early” should not be treated as a current rule.
Match the block to hotfix 1.0.015
On August 22, the developer identified a story block after the rock musician’s guitar and linked three-star ratings at that point to the same issue. Hotfix 1.0.015 addresses it. This is a specific diagnosis, not a fix for every quiet shop.
The developer also warned that an affected save created before 1.0.013 might not recover from the hotfix. Update first and preserve an earlier slot. If the story remains blocked, report the save’s history rather than overwriting it to test a restart.
If all those checks fail
Keep a separate save and record the visible version, platform, last completed story repair, active objectives and whether ordinary orders still arrive. Include screenshots of relevant mail and the workbench in your bug report.
There is no verified universal number of days to wait and no universal “start again” fix in the sources checked here. A competition result or the robot-dog job alone also does not establish that you have reached every character ending. Use the achievement guide if your concern is a missing route rather than missing customers.

Quick answers
Why are no story customers coming to my shop?
Possible causes include an unfinished customer repair, unread story mail, a required license or tool, or a progression bug. Check your current objective and stored devices before assuming the save is broken.
Do I need to restart ReStory?
Not as a first step. A player recovered by completing a forgotten repair, and 1.0.015 fixes a specific guitar-story block. Some older affected saves may still need developer help.
Will waiting three more days always advance the story?
No reliable fixed waiting period was established in the checked sources. Waiting will not complete a repair you have left unfinished.
